2 axis fatigue test of engine mount
2 axis fatigue test of engine mount
2 axis test using servo-hydraulic actuator
In automotive fatigue test program, 2 axis simulation test is rather a simplified and typical for component having multi-axis excitation. A special control function was developed and has been using in fatigue test, the Master – slave control. The test can be conducted simply and
efficiently with this function in a test which requires 2 (or more) servo-hydraulic
actuators to perform a test simultaneously
in any phase relationship. For example, a 2-axis test requires 2 actuators to pull (or push) at the
same time, this phase relationship will 0 degree apart or “in phase”. On the
other hand, if 1 actuator is required to
push while another actuator is required to pull (in any direction) so this
phase relationship will be 180 degree apart or “out of phase”. Important point
is that both actuators are needed to be tuned properly to the response of the
test sample (proper PID values) at relevant controlled parameter; tune in force
mode if the test is performed in force controlled and tune in displacement mode
if the test is performed in force controlled . Above pictures show a test
performed on chassis mounted shock absorber bracket which is required to be
tested in-phase or out of phase at 15 Hz. The 2 actuators are needed to be
tuned separately before the test. The scope on the top left shows the 2 force
responses are perfectly coincident.
